The Friendly Mind School
Practical Skills for Emotional Health

What is The Friendly Mind School?
We all want to be better in some part of our lives:
- Feeling more confident in our work and relationships
- Communicating clearly and more authentically
- Follow through on our goals and aspirations—even dreams!
But it’s often subtle emotional obstacles that hold us back…
- Anxiety and self-doubt sabotage our confidence
- Frustration and resentment cause friction in our relationships
- Procrastination and avoidance derail our best intentions
Sometimes these emotional obstacles are so severe we need professional help like therapy or medication. And occasionally, a good self-help book is enough to get us through. But most of us fall somewhere in the middle: We don’t need clinical help, but we want a little more structure and guidance than a self-help book.
I believe education is that middle way. And that’s why I built The Friendly Mind School: an encouraging space to learn the skills we need to move through everyday emotional struggles and become the best version of ourselves.
That’s my vision. And I’d love to have you join us.

Frequently Asked Questions
I live in a different time zone and/or have a busy schedule. Are the live classes recorded and available to view later?
Yes! Every single live class is recorded and uploaded to the Resource Library within 24 hours. You can watch the replays whenever you want, as many times as you want. You can also submit questions in advance if you know you won’t be able to make it live.
When specifically are the live classes held?
Most live classes are held at 9:00 am Pacific Time, typically on Thursdays or Fridays.
I’m already feeling overwhelmed and busy. How much time do I need to commit to this?
The Friendly Mind School is designed to be a library you pull from if and when you need it. Whether you show up to everything, or just pop in once in a while to grab a tool or re-watch a course segment, the platform works on your schedule. Show up if and when you want—no pressure, no guilt.
Is participation required? I’m pretty private.
No. While active participation is encouraged on the live calls, you are perfectly welcome to simply consume the material passively and privately. If you just want to log in, watch the self-paced courses, download the PDFs, and never post a single comment or turn your camera on during a live class, you will still get plenty of value out of the school. Participation is an option, never an obligation.
Will I get 1-on-1 time with Nick? Is this group therapy?
The Friendly Mind School is an educational platform, not therapy or 1-on-1 coaching.
I’ve already purchased one of your past courses, so is the school still worth joining?
First, the school includes access to all four of my self-paced courses. Second, a big part of the value of the school is the ongoing monthly live classes and library of tools and exercises. So, while only you can decide if it’s worth it to you, I think there’s a lot of value here outside of any one particular course.
How do I actually access the content and platform? Is it hard to use? What if I’m not tech-savvy?
Everything is organized in one online platform called Circle that you can access from your phone, tablet, or computer. I chose this platform specifically because it’s very simple and easy-to-use.
Is there an option for monthly payments?
No, there are only annual payment options. I run the school myself and adding monthly payments makes it significantly more challenging logistically on the backend.
If I join for a year and then cancel, do I lose access to the courses?
Yes. The Friendly Mind School is an active, ongoing membership. Your annual subscription gives you an all-access pass to everything inside the school—the courses, the live classes, and the resource library. If you decide to cancel your subscription, your access to the platform and the materials will go away at the end of your billing cycle.
Will you still be sending your free weekly newsletter if I don’t join?
Definitely! The Monday newsletter isn’t going anywhere. It will remain free, forever. The school is for people who want to go deeper and get more structure for applying the ideas and concepts I write about in the newsletter.
